Concerns growing for man missing from his home for two days
Bernard Smith, 51, has not been seen since leaving Sauchie to drive to Cumbernauld.
Concerns are growing for a man who has been missing from his Clackmannanshire home for two days.
Bernard Smith, 51, has not been seen since leaving his home in Sauchie at around 9.45pm on Saturday.
He was due to drive to Cumbernauld in his blue Mercedes Sprinter van but never appeared and has not been in touch with family or friends since. Mr Smith's van registration is JH58 JPH.
Police are now appealing for anyone who has seen him or his van to come forward.
Inspector Martin Rutland, who is based in Alloa, said: "Bernard's family are anxious to trace him and we are working hard to ensure he is found as quickly as possible.
"Officers are carrying out extensive inquiries and I'm today urging anyone who can help with this ongoing effort to come forward.
"We know that Bernard had said he was intending to travel to Cumbernauld and there is a chance that he may be in this area, however, we are keeping an open mind that he is still in the vicinity of Forth Valley."
A Police Scotland spokesman added: "We're appealing for the assistance of the public to help trace a man reported missing from the Sauchie area.
"Bernard is described as white, 5ft 9ins tall, of slim build, balding with grey hair and is normally clean shaven.
"He was wearing dark jogging bottoms, a maroon-coloured hooded top with white writing on the front and white trainers."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or speak to any officer.
