A teenager has filmed himself illegally scaling one of Egypt's famous pyramids after undertaking the dramatic stunt to get a once in a lifetime view from the top.
Thrillseeking 18-year-old Andrej Ciesielski, posted an edited video of his climb to the summit of the Cheops Pyramid on his YouTube page.
Writing on his blog Andrej, who is from Munich, said it took him just eight minutes to climb the pyramid, and a further 20 minutes to climb back down, during which time he was spotted by the police.
He wrote: "At the half some people got attention on me and looked up. That’s how the police spotted me. They shouted something in Arabic I think but I didn’t care and kept going while listening to music."
It is not the first time the adventurous teen has documented one of his climbs, he has also posted other videos which appear to have been filmed on a GoPro camera of him scaling other landmarks including a 333 metre skyscraper in Shanghai.
Climbing the oldest and largest of the three pyramids could reportedly result in a three-year jail term if authorities chose to prosecute.
