Airline passenger opens emergency exit door 'just for fun' in India
The man was questioned by security forces and barred from boarding another flight.
A German man has been questioned by security officials in India after opening an aircraft's emergency exit door "just for fun".
The man, who was named by local news website Mid-Day, as Steve Titschler, had just arrived in Mumbai from Abu Dhabi on a Jet Airways flight when he caused the security scare.
He opened the door of the Boeing 737-800 after it had landed and while passengers were waiting to disembark.
When questioned by cabin crew about the incident he apparently gave his flippant response.
Mr Titschler was escorted from the aircraft, taken to a local police station and not allowed to board a connecting flight from Mumbai to Delhi.
It is believed the doors had been 'disarmed' for landing by the crew otherwise it's likely the plane's emergency slide would have been deployed.
