Helicopter search for 74-year-old man whose car was found abandoned
Alexander Cruikshank was last seen leaving a house on Eagle Road in Buckhaven, Fife, on Monday.
A helicopter search has been launched for a pensioner whose car was found abandoned in an industrial estate.
Alexander Cruikshank was last seen leaving a house on Eagle Road in Buckhaven, Fife, at 9am on Monday.
The 74-year-old is believed to have travelled to Cupar before returning to the Methil area later the same day.
His car was found in the Burnmill Industrial Estate near the River Leven in Fife at 6.30pm on Monday.
Police Scotland inspector Paul Dick said: "As more time passes we grow increasingly concerned for Alexander's welfare and I would be interested to hear from anyone who has seen him or has information on his whereabouts.
"An extensive search is now under way involving a number of specialist resources including dog units and the police helicopter.
"I ask anyone who has seen Alexander or who has information pertinent to our ongoing enquiries to contact police on 101 if not already done so."
Mr Cruikshank is around 5ft 8in tall, with a slight build, short grey hair and a moustache. He normally wears gold-rimmed glasses and was wearing a chequered blue shirt, a dark blue jacket, light blue jeans and black brogues when last seen.
