For most, tonight won't be quite as cold as previous nights and most parts should escape a frost, however rural locations could still see a touch of ground frost by dawn.

Showers will continue for a time across Scotland overnight, but for many it will be dry with clear spells.

Mist and fog is likely to form in places, particularly across southern counties of England and Wales.

Saturday looks like the better day of the weekend, with sunny spells for most of us.

Cloud and rain will arrive across Ireland and western fringes later in the day.

It will be a mild day, a big change from the bitterly cold conditions we saw last weekend.

Sunday will be very mild, we could see temperatures reach 15C, but by contrast a cloudier day, with some outbreaks of rain.

The heaviest of the rain will be across the northwest.

Looking ahead into next week, it stays unsettled with spells of wet and windy weather at times.

Temperatures look set to stay mild, particularly in the south.
