Woman charged with murder of 82-year-old pensioner found dead in home
Mary Logie was found dead at around 8pm on January 5 at her home in Green Gates in Leven, Fife.
A woman has been charged after an 82-year-old pensioner was found murdered in her own home.
Mary Logie was found at around 8pm on January 5 at her home in Green Gates, Leven, in Fife, after not arriving at a planned hospital visit to see a friend.
On Wednesday evening officers confirmed a 40-year-old woman had been arrested in connection with the murder.
She is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Thursday.
A Police Scotland statement said: "A 40-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with the murder of Mary Logie in Leven on Tuesday 5th January.
"She is scheduled to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Thursday January 21."
Previously, Police Scotland issued a statement on behalf of the pensioner's family which said: "Mary (Rae) Logie, a beloved mother, grandmother and friend will be sadly missed.
"She was born, bred and lived in the Leven area all her life. The family are assisting the police in the investigation and wish to be left alone at this difficult time."
