Concern is growing for the welfare of a man who has been missing from Falkirk for almost two weeks.

Alan MacKenzie, 57, was last seen on Sunday, January 3 around 2.30pm in the Stirling area.

Police Scotland said he has not been in touch with friends or family since that date, but he is thought to have been near the Gyle Shopping Centre in Edinburgh around 12.45pm on Thursday, January 7.

Mr McKenzie is described as white, of a medium build, 5ft 7in tall with balding reddish hair going white at the sides.

He was last seen wearing glasses, dark beige trainers, dark trousers, a striped t-shirt with a white collar, a hoodie, and a grey coat.

Inspector Billy Drummond, from Falkirk police station, said: "We’re eager to establish that Alan is safe and well, and if he hears this appeal I would urge him to contact us or his family.

"Anyone who may have seen Alan, or has information which can help us establish his whereabouts, is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101."
