Restaurant customer's negative post about heart attack victim goes viral
A complaint from a woman who said her meal was 'ruined' by another diner falling ill has gone viral.
A Facebook post purporting to be from a restaurant customer who complained of having her meal "ruined" by another diner who was having a heart attack has gone global.
Holly Jones' posted a message on the Indianapolis restaurant's Facebook page saying that her meal was "ruined by watching a dead person being wheeled out from an overdose".
It later turned out that the woman had suffered a heart attack and survived.
The manager of the restaurant has been praised for his replied to the woman, after heavily criticising her feedback.
The hairdresser had visited Kilroy's Downtown Indianapolis Bar and Grill on New Year's Eve but was not happy with the service she received.
She complained that the group she was with had spent more than $700 at the restaurant, but that waiters had not given them the service they expected as they went to help the other woman.
Paramedics arrived at the restaurant to treat the woman.
The restaurant's manager Chris Burton has received widespread praise for his response to Holly Jones.
In his reply he clarified that the woman had suffered a heart attack, not an overdose and said he was glad Holly would not be returning.
The original post and Chris Burton's response made their way around the world, with people from the UK, South Africa, Germany and Ireland posting messages in support of the restaurant.
Holly Jones has deleted her Facebook profile since she posted the message and the complaint on the restaurant's page has also been removed.
She complained to the manager that she did not post the message, the Daily Mail reported.
